Care at Home proudly announces Alana as Caregiver of the Month for May 2022. Alana has devoted much of her time to home care for the past 16 years. She is also an experienced PCA with skills to care for clients living with severe Alzheimer’s, dementia, traumatic brain injury, hospice support, and more. This exceptional caregiver has been with Care at Home since July 2021.
“I grew up without the loving support of a family until the age of eleven. After being adopted, I witnessed how the kindness of a stranger’s heart changed my life, and I sought to do the same for others,” said Alana. “I also became interested in the medical field when I was sixteen. A nursing program was offered at my high school, and I took an immediate interest!”
Alana maintains a strong passion for delivering one-on-one care and believes it’s a commitment you must be fully present for. “Home care can be challenging at times. But you don’t give up. Families count on me to be there for their loved ones when they cannot. I enjoy seeing clients smile. It reminds me that what I do makes a difference.”
Aside from home care, Alana has additional experience working with special needs individuals. She hopes to work one-day with babies in a Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU). But for now, she loves what she does and cannot see herself in any other career.
