Meet the Team: Field Manager

As Field Manager, Laura oversees Care at Home’s field tech team that performs spot checks, caregiver training, and client assessment updates. She ensures caregivers maintain exceptional home care standards and that clients are bonding with those caregivers. Laura helps initiate that bonding process by performing caregiver-to-client introductions at the start of the home care experience. She also contributes to the team as a care coordinator to assist with scheduling.

Laura began her caregiving journey at a retirement community in Mystic, Connecticut. She was just sixteen when she discovered how much she enjoyed serving others. She quickly realized the profession matched well with her “old soul at heart” personality when interacting with the residents. The experience inspired Laura to obtain her CNA license by nineteen, provide companionship services in the private home care industry, and serve patients transitioning through rehabilitation units.

Much of Laura’s hands-on experience occurred over the seven years she worked as a CNA in a dementia care unit. She cared for 6-12 residents per shift. Laura developed special bonds with the people she cared for and often spent time with them during their final hours. She was committed to the belief that no person should transition alone.

Laura was inspired yet again to take another career step and joined Care at Home as a field technician in 2019 until assuming the role of Field Manager in 2022. Laura lives in Southeastern Connecticut, where she enjoys spending summers at the beach and enjoying fun activities like shopping and apple picking with her teenage daughter. She also loves Sunday dinners with family, playing pool, going bowling, and shooting darts. Laura is an avid animal lover with two cats named Smokey and Milo and a bunny rabbit named Snuggles.
