Fair Season!
With summer winding down that could only mean one thing. Fair season! Here in Eastern Connecticut, we are fortunate enough to be right in the middle of many local and historic county fairs.
We have the Brooklyn fair which is considered to be the oldest continuously active agricultural fair in the United States. They have been entertaining fairgoers since 1809!
There is also the big E (Eastern States Exposition) which is the largest agricultural event on the East Coast, and the sixth-largest fair in the nation.
It’s a great way to get out and enjoy the day with family and see all the activities fairs have to offer. There is truly something for everyone. Maybe your friend or loved one used to enter baked goods or produce in their local fair contest and earned a ribbon or two. Either way a trip to the fair will make new, or rekindle old memories.
