Caregiver of the Month – January 2023

Care at Home announces Genia as Caregiver of the Month for January 2023.

The Care at Home team is delighted to announce Genia as the Caregiver of the Month for January 2023. Genia has been a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for over 20 years and joined Care at Home in 2021. Her experience as a caregiver includes working with clients suffering from dementia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and traumatic brain injuries. Genia is a compassionate caregiver with a radiant personality that shines through in all her interactions with clients.

“The idea of becoming a caregiver happened at a young age for me,” explains Genia. “I grew up in a happy, Christian family environment where my father served as a church deacon. Sometimes I would assist him with looking over the elderly in our parish. It was this very experience that cultivated a deep passion in me to serve others.”

Genia’s care for her clients goes beyond just meeting their physical needs. She enjoys spending time with them, having meaningful conversations, and learning about their life experiences and adventures. This empathetic and caring approach has won her the admiration and love of both her clients and fellow team members.

“Genia is an excellent caregiver with a heart of gold,” says Sarah, Caregiver Supervisor for Care at Home. “We love her, and our clients love her. She’s an absolute ray of sunshine who brightens the lives of everyone around her. We are very proud to call her our caregiver of the month.”
