Lynn D.: A Dedicated Advocate for Clients at Care at Home

Lynn D. has been a vital part of Care at Home since 2020. This month, we’re excited to feature her. Lynn’s journey, passion, and dedication make her stand out. She brings decades of healthcare experience and a strong commitment to client advocacy. Recently, she celebrated her four-year anniversary with us. Now, as she begins her new role as Client Liaison, we sat down with her and discussed her experiences, strengths, and goals for the future.

A Longstanding Passion for Healthcare

Lynn’s journey in healthcare began over 30 years ago. Starting in 1992 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at a hospital, Lynn built a career that has always centered on providing quality care. Over the years, she also worked with the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA), gaining hands-on experience with a variety of patients and their unique needs. Her extensive experience laid a solid foundation for her role at Care at Home, where she started in September 2020.

“I’ve always had a passion for working with clients and helping them live more comfortably. That’s what drew me to Care at Home—the opportunity to make a meaningful impact,” Lynn shared.

Teamwork and a Shared Mission

When Lynn joined Care at Home, she was drawn not only to the mission of the company but to its unique team-oriented culture. “What I really love about Care at Home is how we all work as a team. It doesn’t matter who is technically responsible for a task—if there’s an issue, everyone jumps in to help. That kind of teamwork makes a big difference in how we deliver care,” Lynn explained.

The collaborative environment at Care at Home is something that resonates deeply with Lynn. It perfectly aligns with her strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork. For her, this atmosphere supports her dedication to providing the best care possible for clients, ensuring their needs are always prioritized.

A Client Advocate at Heart

Lynn’s new role as Client Liaison is a natural progression in her career at Care at Home. Lynn is eager to take on the role of advocating for clients. She is committed to working closely with them to ensure their care plans are properly executed. Additionally, she makes it a priority to address any questions or concerns they may have.

“I want to make sure our clients understand their care and feel supported,” she says. “It’s important to me that they’re not just satisfied with their care but are truly happy. I’m here to listen and to help.”

Her goal is to continue being a trusted resource for both clients and their families, building those relationships that create peace of mind for everyone involved.

A Journey of Growth and Learning

Reflecting on her time at Care at Home, Lynn shares how working alongside her colleagues has been a rewarding experience. “The way we all come together as a team makes me so happy,” she says. Lynn’s time with the company has been marked by constant growth and advancement. She began her journey as a caregiver before quickly progressing to the role of Overnight Hero. In 2022, she transitioned into a Field Tech position, and by 2023, she had been promoted to Field Tech Manager. Each step in her career has demonstrated her dedication and capability.

Now, as Client Liaison, Lynn is excited to step up and continue learning.

When it comes to her strengths, Lynn credits her vast field experience and the knowledge she gained through her schooling. However, she is also looking forward to improving her tech skills, an area where she hopes to grow. “I’ve been in this field for a long time, and I’m eager to keep learning—especially when it comes to being more tech-savvy.”

Straightforward and Compassionate

Lynn approaches her relationships with a mix of straightforwardness and compassion. “I may have a hard outer shell, but once you get to know me, I’m sweet and caring,” she shares with a smile. Building strong connections with her colleagues has always been a priority for Lynn. She values teamwork and collaboration, and her peers recognize her for consistently working closely and effectively with others. Regardless of the situation, Lynn is able to contribute and support her team to achieve the best outcomes.

Life Beyond Work

When she’s not advocating for clients or supporting her team, Lynn enjoys spending quality time with her “fur babies” and her family. Beaches are a favorite getaway for Lynn, who loves spending time by the water, whether it’s with friends or family.

“Most of my free time is spent with my loved ones. Whether it’s my kids, my pets, or close friends, that’s how I recharge and relax,” she shares.

A Growing Career at Care at Home

Lynn’s journey at Care at Home has been nothing short of impressive. From starting as a caregiver in 2020 to quickly transitioning to an Overnight Hero, and then taking on the role of Field Tech, she’s always risen to new challenges with grace and dedication. Now, with her most recent promotion to Client Liaison in July 2024, Lynn’s career trajectory speaks to her hard work and the trust she’s built within the company.

As we celebrate Lynn’s four years with Care at Home, we are proud to have her as part of our team. Her dedication to advocating for clients and her commitment to teamwork are invaluable to both our staff and the families we serve.

Lynn’s advice for anyone joining the Care at Home family? “Get to know the team, lean on each other, and always keep the clients at the center of everything you do.”
